Slander

Slander is a serious offense not only in human courts, but also to God. Slandering another human being, who was made in God's image no matter who they are, is essentially slandering God.

This is the definition of slander in a dictionary...

"Slander is the communication of a statement that makes a claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may give an individual, business, product, group, government, or nation a negative image."

Slander is anything we say about another person that isn't true or may be partially true for the sole purpose of ruining their character. Slander is a form of lying. It can be a total fabrication, twisting or distorting facts (especially in exaggeration) or omitting facts that ultimately makes another person look bad.

Of the seven things God says He absolutely despises, two are about lying and all result from wickedness in the heart.

"There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to Him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers." Proverbs 6:16-19

Lying, in any form, God hates. It doesn't matter to Him the reason for it. There is no small lie or big lie to Him. He doesn't care if our lives were on the line. It doesn't matter if we think we had good intentions. Lying is total wickedness to God and those good intentions we claim to have, God calls it wicked. In fact He says every intention of a persons heart is only wicked all the time (Genesis 6:5). Abraham lied about Sarah his wife on two occasions and told two different rulers Sarah was his sister and not his wife because he was afraid he would be killed for her (Genesis 12:10-20, 20:1-18). His son Isaac did the exact same thing about his wife (Genesis 26:6-12) and they never got away with it. If we lie in any form even if we are sure we'll lose our lives for telling the truth, it is evil to God and it also shows the lack of faith in God when we resort to what He hates even out of fear.

Slander encompasses all of these. When you look through the list of Scriptures that has to do with slander, you'll see that a slanderer has much deeper issues going on in the heart that their mouth is projecting...

"For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart." Matthew 12:34

"But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders." Matthew 15:18-19

"The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart." Luke 6:45

God also views slander, like hatred, as a form of murder because it comes from a hateful heart, ( 1 John 3:15) and it's character assassination. We'll be judged as murderers if we slander. It doesn't matter if we've been wronged and are just venting...slander is murder. It's a deep hatred in the heart for another human being made in the image of God that causes someone to slander. All actions begin with a thought. No murder is ever committed without any previous thoughts about it or festering hatred. Long before the actual murder took place, the murder was already being committed in the heart. Actions and what is spoken is simply a physical manifestation of what's already going on inside a person.

I've been a victim of slander. It's never fun and rarely can one fight against it...

"The words of a talebearer are like choice morsels; they go down to a man's inmost parts." Proverbs 18:8

Like anything sweet, people gladly swallow the slander and pass it along. People are always willing to believe the worst about another without any facts to back it up. They're always willing to accept and believe slander. Just hearing it plants a seed in a person's heart about another and it always affects how we think about someone and how we treat them. Even if we don't believe it at first, it's always there in the back of a person's mind and will pop up eventually. This is why it's so hard to fight against. This is the reason gossip is to be avoided (so as to not affect our hearts and how we think of another) and especially never repeated. We have no way of knowing if what we're hearing and then passing along is the truth or not.

We've all been victims at one time or another and we've done it ourselves. Before we talk to another person we should consider how God views slander in any form and be sure that what we're putting out there about another person is entirely true, can be backed and that our motives are righteous.

Did you know the man should always pursue the woman? Did you know in Scripture if a woman pursues a man she's considered immoral?

Warren Interview Is Baaaaack!

Thanks to Purpose Drivel, I was able to watch the interview that John Piper's Desiring God has put back up and can be found here...Rick Warren Interview

In a nutshell, the interview is really just trying to convince true believers Warren's a good guy and we can trust his teachings. Anyone who actually reads their Bibles knows they can't no matter how many interviews Piper does. The fact that John Piper felt the need to even do this 98 minute interview is a red flag. Is Warren a debutante Piper has to introduce to society? Warren's not a new kid on the block. He's been around a long time and his church is large. Warren already has a large following of professing "Christians" so why are they concerned with Warren's perception? If Warren was genuine they wouldn't have to do so much back peddling. If Warren was genuine then he'd be repenting of the garbage he's been spewing for years and starting fresh NOT back peddling and still clinging to his original stance.

His doctrine, that Warren's stood on for years, is a mess and they both know it. This entire business they're both about is making me nervous. They're after those who know Scripture because those are the ones who throw big monkey wrenches into their little network. They've both taken a serious hit from true Christians and they're hoping they can fix it. Good luck with that Piper! In the meantime...as long as Piper continues to stand with heretic Warren and doesn't repent, my back will continue to be turned.

Mikael Thomson - Europe's Reformer

This message annihilates popular messages today and the weak, feel good, Micky Mouse Gospel so many run after. Mikael Thomson is a very sound teacher and is exactly what Europe has been starving for. God is always faithful. Among so many false teachers and so much apostasy...He always has a few He raises up and Mikael Thomson is one of them...

List of False Teachers and False Prophets

This is my list, but I'm sure I'm missing many names. I'll update as I go. In this day of great apostasy it's important we mark them that teach false doctrine and have nothing to do with them (Romans 16:17). That's not my opinion. That's Biblical.

This isn't about disagreements on secondary issues. Secondary issues are not fundamental therefore it doesn't break my unity within the Body. I don't agree with everything Paul Washer or John MacArthur teach, but those disagreements have no bearing on foundational doctrine. The people on this list are those who clearly go against foundational doctrine and teach false doctrine within Christianity. They've been found repeatedly to lie, deceive, twist Scripture, incorporate occultism and mysticism, take Scripture way out of context in order to deceive and give false prophecies. I've also added those who may have good doctrine themselves, but approve of false teachers. You may find someone on this list you love. Don't get upset with me. Do your own test of these teachers as you're supposed to do. Study your Bible, compare their teaching to Scripture. For more on how to recognize false teachers and prophets, you can read False Prophets

If You're Not Suffering....Start Worrying.

"It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD. It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is young. Let him sit alone in silence, for the LORD has laid it on him. Let him bury his face in the dust— there may yet be hope. Let him offer his cheek to one who would strike him, and let him be filled with disgrace. For no one is cast off by the Lord forever. Though He brings grief, He will show compassion, so great is His unfailing love. For He does not willingly bring affliction or grief to anyone." Lamentations 3:26-33

When that was written, the people were suffering. They'd been rounded up like cattle, their homes and city conquered and destroyed and carted off to Babylon as exiles. Are you suffering? Does it seem unending? Have you known affliction so long and so much you don't think you'd know how to even live without it? Sinking fast?

Good! That's not only great news, but it's also a good sign.

No, I'm not crazy or heartless. I've been through it too and will probably be thrown in the crucible several more times before it's over. Iff you've been following around prosperity teachers and others whose teachings are full of worldly philosophy, pop-psychology, coddling and a watered down Gospel, "Good" isn't exactly what you expected or wanted to hear. I probably do come off as heartless. Nevertheless, God does have control over our suffering. It didn't come without His knowledge and He allows it for specific purposes.

God uses suffering to teach and discipline. He also uses it to draw us to Him. God will not only make us marinate in suffering, but He expects us to do it silently. As humans, it's natural for us to complain, whine, freak out, try to fix things ourselves or be confused, but as Christians all of these things are sin.

"For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters." Romans 8:29

God predestined us to be built into Christ's image, nothing else. He didn't choose or predestine us because we have great hair, a way with words, charismatic, pretty or have specific talents He can utilize. He chose for His own reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with us or about us and it's for the sole purpose to conform us into the image of Christ. That conformity can only come through suffering.

When have you ever been changed or learned valuable lessons when times were good? When times are good we always become complacent, lazy and indifferent. We learn very little. It's when things go down the drain does the real education and change happen. We're always willing to accept good from God, but when He brings trials and affliction for purposes of discipline and training, we sulk, whine and lose faith. When is discipline from any stand point "fun"? Any time I was ever disciplined I never thought "Man this is great! Tack on another week to my groundment Dad! I love it!" or "Hit me again grandma! I wanna see the pretty stars again!"

All discipline is necessary and vital. If we are Believers then we should expect trials and suffering for discipline and training. But if you don't face much suffering or affliction then I say to you: examine yourself to see whether you really are a genuine Believer. If your life is just peachy and successful most of the time that is a serious cause to worry about your relationship with God according to the Bible. Not suffering is a red flag that a relationship with God is non-existent.

“'My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when He rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastens everyone He accepts as His son.'”
Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as His children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all.  Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in His holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it." Hebrews 12:5-11

King Solomon offered good advice for us...

"When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, a man cannot discover anything about his future." Ecclesiastes 7:14

Affliction makes us re-evaluate. It makes us think, examine ourselves and consider, not just our situation and lifestyle, but also our relationship with God. Then it moves us closer to God, dependent on Him and that bond is strengthened. Only that relationship is eternal. Everything else is uncertain and temporary. If you've been met with one struggle after the other, it's temporary. This life is the closest you or I will ever get to Hell. That puts trials in a whole new perspective. When we consider what millions of other Christians go through daily and how they suffer, our suffering will seem small and insignificant in comparison.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance." James 1:2-3

"In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold--though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world." 1 Peter 1:6-7

God never promised an easy life to anyone. That's what counting the cost of following Christ was. (Luke 14:28-34) It's a hard life, it's a disciplined life, it's a struggle, full of trials and affliction and will cost you everything. It may even cost you your life. The crucible is not a play ground. That fire is going be hot when we get plunged in and it's going to hurt, but there's no other method for removing impurities from gold like fire. It's absolutely necessary.

Lastly, since we are being conformed to the image of Christ and we're to follow His example...

"Although he was a Son, He learned obedience from what He suffered" Hebrews 5:8

Christ, though the Son, learned obedience through suffering as to be an example to us and the firstborn among many. If Christ suffered to be taught obedience, how can we not expect to suffer? Obedience is only taught through discipline and sometimes that discipline must come through a harsh rod. If it seems that God has been beating the daylights out of you lately, don't whine or complain to others. Don't freak out or throw a tantrum. Rejoice! It means you're His. But if you haven't really experience suffering or affliction in your walk, now's the time to worry.

Letter To Our Soldiers

All in rows are small white rectangular headstones engraved with the names of men who died in service to our country from the present all the way back to WWl. For Memorial Day morning at this Detroit cemetery, a group of veterans will play the bagpipes, as they do every year, marching the curving and twisting lanes until they reach the soldiers graves. A Priest will follow to bless the graves and pray over them. F16s will do a flyover in remembrance and small American flags will be placed at each headstone honoring the fallen soldiers for their service. And I'll be there to take part at a distance in the solemn memorial and once the others have left I'll place my own small flags on graves as well.

As we approach Memorial Day I began thinking about the baby I'm carrying... a little boy and wondered if one day, when he grows up, if he'll want to take the path of a soldier. I wondered how I would feel if my own son left home to serve. Even as I imagined being sick with worry, counting the days until he came home, hoping and praying he makes it home, I already knew I would be so proud of him. It's a nobel calling, indeed, to literally give of one's life willingly to protect this nation. It takes a special kind of person. Our soldiers, many of them 18 years old, choose to offer their lives, sacrifice going to college, partying, hanging out with friends, getting jobs and having fun to fight for and protect us. How selfless are they? At 18 years old they know they may never make it home alive, but they volunteer and go anyway.

I have a friend who joined the Marines straight out of high school and served a tour in Afghanistan. This goofy guy I've known for years, hung out with, fought with, went to school with and got in trouble with suddenly became my hero. You all are. I can't think of anyone I admire more than a soldier. When I see one on occasion I have to stop and look at them in awe because even though I don't know them I'm so proud of them.

To all my heroes serving or whom have served, thank you for your service, thank you for your lives and sacrifice. You are loved and remembered no matter where you are or what time of year it is. It's because of you we, as a nation, are who we are and have all that we have. It's because of you our military is the finest in the world. I'm always praying for you and hoping that every single one of you return to your families safe. God bless...

The Rapture - Two Separate Comings Of Christ?

With "The Rapture" and Biblical Prophecy pushed into the headlines because of Harold Camping's faulty division of Scripture, I've linked to two concise articles on the "The Rapture" and different views of it in the Church.

"The Rapture" by Ralf Woodrow

"The Rapture" by Everett I. Carver

I, personally, do not believe in a pre-tribulation Rapture. I've studied it carefully and picked Scripture apart, but  have yet to find any basis for it in the Bible. After studying I've come to accept a Postmillennialist view.

Because an individual's belief of the Rapture doesn't affect foundational doctrine, it shouldn't affect the unity among Christians. So whether you're a pre-tribber, post-tribber, Postmillennialist or Amillennialist doesn't disqualify anyone nor should it be cause for division or questioning of another's faith. In any case we're all to be looking ahead to the Second Coming and always ready for it.

John Piper Interview Of Rick Warren Does A Houdini

An excellent article at Apprising Ministries. Just follow the link....

UPDATE: Rick Warren Interview Is Baaaack

As typical of false teachers, Rick Warren doesn't seem to like his interviews and teachings gone over by watchdogs even when he's being assisted in all of his back peddling glory by the likes of John Piper. You would think Warren would welcome this kind of "investigation" since he's spending so much time trying to convince Christians he's an Ok guy with semi-good doctrine. Alas, Rick Warren must think he's above Biblical standards when it comes to being tested. If the Bible praised the Bereans and called them "Nobel" (Acts 17:11) for studying Scripture to cross check what Paul was teaching, why would Rick Warren have issue with it if he's a genuine, sound teacher? Surly he doesn't think he's above Paul. It sure looks that way.

John Piper, so far, seems eager to go down with that sinking ship. Why take the time to do such an indepth interview only to remove it from Saddleback and Desiring God? It certainly appears both are unsure of what they're doing and not even convinced themselves. This puts them both, especially Piper, in a very precarious and dangerous situation. I can only judge by what I see and read, and in that is definite fruit to examine, but it appears Piper knows exactly what he has on his hands and is willing to stand with Warren's false doctrine. By their fruit we will know them and Piper's fruit is looking more and more like long rotten....

May 21 The End Of The World

ABC News

May 21, 2011 is making big news as being the end and the Rapture of the church. This isn't anything new. False teachers and false prophets have been predicting the date since God knows when. Now days they use silly "scientific" methods or special revelations (gnosticism), which deceives a lot of weak minded people, and declare they've arrived at a definite date. Campings methods for arriving at this date are shoddy at best and frankly I'm embarrassed for him.

Harold Camping is the latest to be predicting the date and time and he's been broadcasting this false prophecy all over the world including on billboards. He claims that at 6:00 pm on the 21st the rapture will take place, about 2% of the world's population will go and then everyone else will be destroyed. We can all relax because the world is not going to end tomorrow.

Camping also predicted, at one time, that the exact same thing would happen on September 6, 1994. And we're still here. What Camping isn't getting, or maybe just flat out ignoring is....

1. No one knows the day or the hour (Matthew 24:26)

2. It's not for us (people) to know. (Acts 1:7) If God wanted someone to know then He would've added "except Camping."

3. Because Camping's predictions have failed in the past is proof he isn't a prophet and hasn't heard a single word from God. "If a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD but the thing does not take place or prove true, it is a word that the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; do not be frightened by it." Deuteronomy 18:22

More frightening than Camping are the many people who believe this. When only 10% of professing Christians in this country actually read their Bibles regularly then we understand how this type of craziness actually works here. Where ignorance is rampant so is deceit.

I'm having a thumb sucking boy

Had another ultra sound this morning and the doctor could see what the baby was. The baby was also sucking his thumb. Ha! That kills me! As soon as my doctor told us my mouth fell open and my husband starts laughing. He wanted a boy. We had a boy's name picked out pretty early but nothing really for a girl that we both liked. Maybe it was an omen.

So his name is Darian :) It's a nice Persian name, but not overly ethnic so he gets made fun of. If he's anything like his daddy I'm in trouble. If he's anything like me I'm in bigger trouble. Hopefully it'll be a nice even mix of us lol

Marry Rather Than Burn

"But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband." 1 Corinthians 7:2

"But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion." 1 Corinthains 7:9

At the time this was written to the church in Corinth sexual immorality was rampant there like it is now. We are hit from all sides on a constant basis and it's tough! As Christians we know we must abstain when not married, but the sinful nature of man, combined with what we're bombarded with at every level, makes it extremely difficult. However, it doesn't mean rush off and get married to someone so you can release.

In no way was Paul telling people to do this in the above verses. Self-control should always be exercised first and caution in even placing ourselves in compromising situations. Being in compromising situations is very easy to do and once in them we can find ourselves in really bad situations and out of control. I know how it is as well and in this no one's innocent. Self control can't be achieved on our own either. We don't have it in us to control ourselves in that way so we must be fully dependent on God.  When temptation does come, (and it will) recognizing we can't stand on our own and must look immediately to God to provide the exit.

Getting married isn't an instant fix to sexual desire anyway. God hates divorce and if a marriage is based only on lust or satisfying a sex drive then that marriage has no foundation, it won't last and is in for some serious problems. People are still just people and even being married, one person can still burn with passion for another outside of the marriage.

The Greek word for "burn" is "puroo" and it literally means to be inflamed with lust. God doesn't want us getting married out of lust. Marriage is sacred to God and reflects the relationship between Christ and His people. How could a marriage based on lust reflect that? Lust is of the sin nature and as long as we're breathing we will all battle it at one point or another despite having spouses. Getting married is better then eventually falling into sexual sins. Not everyone can live unmarried and maintain self control. It must be given to them by God so the self control needed to maintain that lifestyle must come from God, (Matthew 19:11) therefore marriage should not be forbidden to anyone. It breeds all sorts of problems and sexual sins later for the individual.

Marriage doesn't eliminate lust, but it does help suppress it when the marriage is healthy. God strongly advocates a very active sex life with a spouse, encourages it and praises it. It's never to be withheld or deprived when one wants it unless for devoting oneself to prayer for a very short time (which must be agreed on first). Then we are to come back together so we don't fall into temptation and sin. (1 Corinthians 7:5) Depriving a spouse is setting them up for temptation and sexual sin. In the process you'd also be doing a lot of damage to yourself if and when the spouse does fall.

Sex is more than just for pleasure. It's symbolic of the spiritual relationship and of being one flesh and if a marriage is based purely on sexual release you're missing a vital organ of what marriage is. Sex with a spouse has profound physical affects on the body and the brain. It also has powerful affects on the relationship. When done in a healthy marriage, it's extremely healthy physically and spiritually. When done for purely pleasure and selfish reasons, even in the confines of marriage, there's gonna be a lot of damage.

It's reflective of the intimate relationship and union God has with His people. By giving His Spirit to us it's a perfect example of making one out of two in our relationship with God. Sex was created for us by God and when done under His conditions, it's sacred and a beautiful act to Him. If one person is withholding sex from the other it's depriving the other of their right to a part of their own body and spirit. In marriage there is no "this is my body" mentality.

"The husband must fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife." 1 Corinthians 7:3-4

It's not an ownership idea like property. As one, everything about a spouse is part of other and vise versa. Everything one does, says or thinks will have a direct impact on the other.

So in all respects, it's better to get married then fall into sexual sin, but until that time comes it's not to be rushed into, but rather self control plays a major part until marriage and even in marriage. Self control is above all because marriage isn't a cure for lust.

Is Taiwan Still Here?

Prophet Predicts Taiwan Diasters

A Taiwanese prophet predicted that a 14 magnitude earthquake would hit Taiwan today which would trigger a massive Tsunami of 560 foot waves that would slam the tiny country.....5 days later. Man that is a slow moving tsunami! But I guess it doesn't matter since a 14 richter scale earthquake would kill everything that breathes in Taiwan anyway so the tsunami just becomes a moot point. What's left of Taiwan would end up next to San Francisco at that rate.

This prophet then advised his followers to stock up on supplies and hide inside shipping containers. He claims the containers would be much safer during the ginormous earthquake.

Really? Why not just go sit in a car parked outside a high rise? At a size 14, they can huddle in a massive field and not survive. I suppose this "prophet" owning a container company had absolutely nothing to do with his suggestion. Nah!

And what about the tsunami 5 days later? Won't they need some kind of floatation device that can ride the 560ft waves over the remaining half of Taiwan, China, Russia and western Europe? Shipping containers float about as well as cement shoes. At least offer some arm floaties man or some of those blow up rings with ducky heads.

Aside from all this...whose actually following this guy? Whose buying into this?  Now that scares me more than an apocalyptic earthquake and tsunami.

Explosive Growth of Christianity Around the World

From Fox News...

God Is Unfair

Job was from the land of Uz and Abraham's brother. He was a wealthy, very pious and highly respected. He had 7 sons and 3 daughters. Job always worried that his children might offend God so he regularly offered burnt offerings for sin pardons on behalf of them.

Job begins with a confrontation between God and Satan where the angels come to present themselves to God and Satan shows up. Immediately, God starts bragging to Satan about Job, how righteous he is and that there's no one like him (Job 1:8). But Satan responds to God that Job's only as righteous as he is because God has a wall of protection and blessing around him. If God were to remove it and strike Job's wealth, Job would curse God. (Job 1:9-11)

This is a direct challenge to God that's accepted. God knows His servant, but also God understood something Satan didn't, God is the one who keeps His people standing. They don't do it on their own. God is the one who restrains and upholds us, not us. So God accepts the challenge and gives Satan permission to strike all of Job's wealth and destroy it with the stipulation Satan could not touch Job himself.(Job 1:12).

As soon as calamities hit and Job lost everything (flocks and his children), the first thing Job did was humble himself and said  “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.” (Job 1:21). In such a terrible disaster Job didn't accuse God of being unfair or doing anything wrong. Job understood that all he had including his children that he loved, came from God alone. Since God was the giver and creator then all things belonged to Him and He had free reign to do with them as He chose.

After some time past, again Satan arrived with the rest of the angels before the throne and God gets a dig in about Job. He starts bragging again to Satan. “Skin for skin!” Satan replied. “A man will give all he has for his own life.  But now stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face.” (Job 2:4-5)

God accepted the challenge once more, but tells Satan he must spare Job's life. In all of this God is still sovereign. No matter what Satan does he still needs God's permission to do it and is limited to how much he can inflict. This is the restraining grace of God. Notice Satan tells God, "if You stretch out Your hand..." God Himself is not working all the destruction, but He is allowing it. In effect, though Satan is the actual destroyer, God is the One who allows him to wreak havoc and restrains him. God isn't committing evil Himself, but He is allowing it for His own purposes. Those purposes always include to glorify Himself, show His greatness and for the salvation of many.

Satan strikes Job with terrible sores all over his body. To get relief from them, he took a piece of broken pottery and scraped his skin with it. Job's wife then sees him and says "Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!”(Job 2:9)

Job rebuked her “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?”(Job 2:10) Most people get his wife wrong. Even the Koran projects Job's wife as being wicked, but there's a misunderstanding of the Hebrew word for "curse" and "integrity". First, her advice to curse God doesn't fit her character. She did live the rest of her days with Job and Job clearly respected and honored his wife (Job 31) so to automatically assume she was wicked from her response is wrong. The Hebrew for "curse" in this text is "birk" and it means to "bow, bless, kneel." The Hebrew for "integrity" in the sense she used is "tummah" and it means to "end, complete, cease, be spent"

She wasn't telling Job to curse God and die. She was telling him to follow the customary edict of bowing out with a blessing to God and accepting death which is still a customary practice today. Job wasn't rebuking her "curse" he was arguing against the custom. As if to say "I'm not going out like that and how dare you suggest I do! If I can accept good from God and not crumble so I can accept trouble and not fall apart."

From there is where the rest of the book of Job goes. His friends show up and throughout the rest of the book they accuse Job of sinning somehow therefore inciting God's punishment. They continue rebuking him for not confessing his sins and wrongly assume that God always rewards good and punishes evil without leaving room for other reasons Job's suffering has occurred. This faulty theology limits God sovereignty and wisdom. God doesn't always reward and punish for good or evil, but for others reasons and purposes.

Job keeps insisting he hasn't sinned. He maintains his innocence and this causes his friends' rebukes to become harsher. As if to say: "How dare you think you haven't sinned against El Shaddai. Are you perfect like Him?" The going back and forth like this only enrages and discourages Job. He insists he did nothing to warrant God's punishment, but even in all of this Job never once cursed God. But still Job challenged God to explain Himself. He put God on trial so to speak. If Job hadn't sinned then why was he being punished? Job had the exact same mentality as his friends. God only rewards good and punishes evil with nothing in between.

After a while of arguing between Job and his friends God shows up, turns it around and puts Job on trial, demanding answers from him.“Who is this that obscures My plans with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me." Job 38:2-3

Then God says to Job “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell Me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!"Job 38:4-5 God is basically saying "Who are you, Job who has lived maybe 70 years while I'm eternal. Where were you when I created everything. You're so wise in your vapor of a life you must know!"

God then gives Job examples of what it is to be the Creator and asks him if He has any of the power and authority God has. God then rebukes Job with a series of arguments to show His power and authority over weak mans. That God controls everything while Job can't control whether he even gets sick or not. God can restrain easily even the most fierce creatures while Job can't even get near them without being ripped apart. Job is nothing more than another creature in a world of creatures that God created. "You are the creature Job and I am the Creator." Big difference.

God is Ruler over everything and as Ruler and Creator everything is at His disposal. He made it, He runs it, He has absolute freedom over it and He can do with man and creation as He wants. He doesn't need approval from people to do anything nor does He look for it. Because He's the Creator and mankind is just weak creatures, who are we to question God's fairness, mercy, judgment and wisdom? Who are we to accuse God of doing wrong? He owns and runs everything. If He wants to destroy it all and all people he can do it. If He chooses some and not others to save then He can. If He chooses to bless one and not the other He's allowed and it's just incredibly silly to question it or argue against it. If you buy a house and decide to take a baseball bat to the entire house who can stop you? You paid for it.

“Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct Him? Let him who accuses God answer Him!”Job 40:2

Like Job, when suffering hits us, our understanding and knowledge is extremely limited to what's in front of our faces. We don't always understand why bad things happen to us or the world. We don't know what's going on behind the scenes and in our suffering. We usually don't care. But we should. The entire book of Job is about God's free rule and sovereignty over all of creation. We are simply a part of that creation. God assures us that all things work (bad or good) according to His own purposes and for our good (Romans 8:28). That trust in His words and wisdom is enough. To fight against that or accuse God of being unfair is stupid. Who are you, person whose lived 20 years? Who are you, man whose lives 50 years? You know nothing nor do you have any power or control. We're just creatures among many creatures created by God for God in a world that doesn't belong to us. It's not about us. It's about Him.

Navy SEALs Get Bin Laden

You gotta love these guys. Not only are the SEALs the most highly trained soldiers in the entire US military, but they are the most elite. When the Boogeyman goes to sleep every night, he checks his closet for SEALs. The Navy SEALs have already been to Mars. That's why there's no signs of life there. They're so bad they even have their own special forces elite dogs that can parachute and/or rappel at a moments notice. These dogs were used in the bin Laden raid.

According to the news, they moved in so fast, the Pakistani military base, only 100 yards away, had no idea what was going on. By the time the fight was over, the SEALs had taken Bin Laden's body, collected other "treasure troves" from the house and blew up a stalled Black Hawk helicopter before the Pakistani military could blink. The military base was still assembling and getting their jets in the air when the SEALs were already long gone and in safe airspace. Only after they were gone was the Pakistan government informed of what had just taken place. The SEALs also trained in a built to scale replica of bin Laden's house for months before the raid. They didn't know at the time who they were being trained for. It wasn't until just before the actual raid were they told who the "target" was.

The Navy SEALs weren't sent to capture Osama. I don't care what some politician says. They were sent only to kill him. They're trained killers and only show up for the big targets. These guys will take out women and children if they have to, to carry out orders. Their identity isn't completely confidential for nothing. When they were approaching bin Laden's room, he stuck his head out the door and a SEAL fired at his head and missed. 2 little girls came running from the room and one SEAL grabbed them and got them out of the way. They hit the room,  shot bin Laden's wife in the leg, who Osama pushed at them, then they killed bin Laden. One interesting fact is out all the things they needed and brought with them....they all forgot measuring tape. One 6 foot SEAL laid down next to bin Laden's body for a picture as a quick estimate as to how tall bin Laden was.

In any case here's a video on the SEALs and some fun facts from their SITE

1.Navy SEALs are trained to work in more environments and terrains than any other type of solider in the United States.  They are trained to work on Land, on the Sea, and in the Air.  In fact, those three elements are what SEALs stand for.

2.Navy SEAL sharpshooters have almost 100% accuracy.  They are trained to hit a target within an inch from 100 or more yards away!

3.The majority of Navy SEALs will train upwards of 52 weeks before becoming an official Navy SEAL!  This makes the Navy SEALs the most trained soldiers in the United States military.

4.There are no female Navy SEALs and has never been a single female Navy SEAL in the history of the Navy SEALs.

5.As of 2009 there have been less than 11,000 individuals who have gained the title of Navy SEAL!  These numbers make the Navy SEALs even more elite!

6.Pro-wrestler Jesse Ventura was a Navy SEAL!

Osama's Dead

As Christians we have to remember that God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked (Ezekiel 33:11) and not to rejoice when an enemy falls (Proverbs 24:17). Any chance of repentance he had while breathing is lost forever. Instead, every moment he lived was a moment he filled his cup of wrath. Osama died expecting rewards of martyrdom and opened his eyes in hell. I don't wish hell on anyone, but God's justice is being served now

Update on this....according to the News reports from those who viewed the footage of the Navy Seals operation they tape from cameras on their headgear, Osama grabbed a woman and tried to use her as a shield when the NS broke in. My Pastor said recently "You can tell a lot about a person how they die." And it's true. He consigned so many to their deaths even those doing his bidding but in the end Osama was just a coward.

Females Are Beautiful

I woke my husband up early this morning by grabbing his hand and holding it to my belly. "The baby's moving. I can feel it." I said. We both laid there literally holding our breath waiting to feel it again, but didn't. It wasn't like a kick but a strange shifting. The first time it got my attention but I wasn't sure. The second time was unmistakable and so exciting. Hearing and seeing the heartbeat is amazing, but to actually feel that life move inside you is awesome. I'm not showing that much and can still wear my normal clothes comfortably so it makes me forget sometimes that there's a "passenger" as my husband calls it, but feeling it move was a beautiful reminder.

Being pregnant makes me realize just how beautiful being a female is. I love men and appreciate all they're capable of and offer, but I wouldn't want it any other way. Sure we have to deal with so much more physically than men do especially with PMS, carrying a baby and giving birth. We're also more likely to develop chronic pain conditions but there's so many other qualities us females possess that not only attract men to us, but also strengthens the bonding for each other.

Though we are much smaller (bone and muscle wise) than men and far more delicate our bodies cultivate and carry other human beings. We are the bearers of life. Sadly our wombs, at times, may begin as the cradle, but end as the grave, but even in that there is beauty. Our bodies bring forth life, nurture it, protect it, feed it, care for it all on its own apart from mental or emotional involvement. Long before we even know we're carrying a baby, our bodies have already begun taking meticulous care of that baby.

The difference in our body structure from men is beautiful. We are fragile compared to men. Men are bulky, muscular and bigger and they have to be to fulfill the purposes for which they were made but contrast that with females and just physically our roles in humanity are apparent. We are softer, sweeter, gentler, smaller, delicate, curvier truly reflecting the emotional and mental capacity for which we serve. Have you ever watched your man and how he interacts with other males? It's interesting. They can be so rough with each other even in just how they speak, their body language, their interactions. My husband plays soccer and hockey and when I go to his games I can't even watch sometimes. I've played hockey myself, but no where near how men play with each other. They plow into each other, slam, throw, hit, trip, bull doze each other and it's painful to watch at times. They're more ruthless than professionals. Yet when they're alone with us females it's like they're handling a delicate piece of crystal and instantly they soften as well.

We have a powerful, calming presence. In a prison setting around the most dangerous kind of criminals who are combative toward the male guards, if a female is brought in, whether she's another guard, nurse, doctor whatever, they've found that most male prisoners instantly calm down and seem to be comforted and softened just by the female's presence and sound of her voice. I saw a video online recently of a married couple arrested for mutual combat domestic violence. They were separated immediately to go through the booking process. Even though they ended up there for fighting each other and obviously their relationship was disfunctional, the minute they were separated the female completely withered and the male became increasingly agitated by the minute. Once they were put in separate cells he paced back and forth like an animal knowing she was close by but couldn't see her. He couldn't stand not being able to protect her in that environment and she couldn't stand not being able to comfort him. The moment he was allowed to see her and sit next to her to eat they were like peas in a pod and you'd think the most loving couple you ever saw. He was instantly calm and she a happy little camper. Prison isn't the only place though where our presence is so effective. We have the same kind of effect inside the home and even in highly stressful situations.

We're the nurturers. We hold so much of the emotional and mental stimulation that humans need to develop and function stably. That's not to say men don't provide much because they do. Research is clear when a father is missing from a kid's life the impact is profound, but we are what kids run to when they want to be comforted and cared for emotionally. That nurturing aspect of us creates bonds with other females you don't find among males. Females can be fierce competitors with each other, but we also share a common empathy, intuition and emotional bond with each other that lasts a lifetime. As much as we need men, we also need other females. We pick each other up, we comfort each other, encourage one another and strengthen each other like nothing else can.

We are the caregivers. We are the ones humans depend on to care for them from the moment of conception. We wash, dress, feed, protect, comfort and teach little people. Our influence stretches generation after generation. The bond between a mother and her offspring is not just emotional and mental but also spiritual. Women's intuition is a powerful thing that I'm becoming more and more familiar with in myself. When I use to have those moments it came off as just weird. Now I understand it's a part of being female. We can feel things pertaining to those we are connected to even if we don't know what's happening. We know things before they happen. We know things even as they happen despite distance between us and those we love.

We are fierce protectors of our offspring. Animals operate on pure instinct and look at how fiercely they protect their babies. Mess with our offspring and an emotional, mental and physical whirlwind has just been unleashed. Men are no where near as vicious as females can be even in the animal kingdom. I recently saw a mother grizzly bear go after and take on a male grizzly who was 3 times her size simply because he got too close to her cubs. It was sheer suicide for her and he could have easily killed her, but she stood her ground and eventually the male left her alone.

Our role in humanity is significant and males instinctively react like a mama grizzly to protect a female. No matter how influenced by feminism our society may be, men still respond to females as a fierce protector themselves. At one time I was considering going into the military and I asked a Marine recruiter about the chances of me being put in combat. He smiled and explained I'd never be put in combat on purpose, but could possibly find myself in a combat situation depending on the type of job I went into. In that case I'd be dressed like a man and anything feminine about me would be hidden while out in the open. The reason was simple...an entire operation can be blown and lives lost when a female gets hurt or killed on a battlefield. The enemy targets females simply because they know the men will act on instinct and run to the female to protect her not to mention the emotional and mental trauma males experience when they witness a female soldier being killed.

We are beautiful creatures and femininity is our role in humanity. It baffles me when such beautiful creatures want to strip off the qualities that make us so priceless. We have so much to offer and are so valuable just the way we are. Everything we are and everything we've built wouldn't be if we tried to be anything different or shed the purpose for which we are. It doesn't matter what you look like or where you've been, God took great care with us females, creating stunning masterpieces for not only men to appreciate, but to appreciate in ourselves and with each other in the friendships we form and the societies we help build. Being a female is a beautiful thing.
